EISENHOWER HIGH SCHOOL PTSA MEETING MINUTES NOV 10, 2011  

Vice President Lisa Allison called the meeting to order at 6:40pm in Room 103. Introductions were made. Members present were Amy Karan, Lori Frymier, Linda Kincannon, Susie Ball, Lisa Allison, Karen Troianello, Kim Griffith, Amber Henderson, Lynda Otey,  Julia Griffin, and Mary Allen.

 

MINUTES of the September meeting were read and accepted. Oct. meeting minutes will be presented at Dec. meeting due to printer problem.

 

PRINCIPAL REPORT- principal not present.

 

TREASURER REPORT- October report was presented.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS-

  Reflections- Sherrie and Loretta have met with interested teachers.

                     Theme is “ Together We Can “. Deadline is November 24.

 

  Membership- currently we have 48 members  (about 50% staff and 50% parents)

 

  Senior Party-Julia Griffin is co-chairing with the Cross and Royce families. Committees are being formed. Next meeting is Nov. 30 in Ike cafeteria.A fundraiser dance is being planned for Dec. 30 (New Year’s Eve Eve). Davis/IKE faculty basketball game is planned. There was concern about the Senior Class Trip. Mrs. Griffin reported that the current seniors and each senior class through 2014 will be able to have a Senior Trip but none after that time due to liability issues.                                                  

 

  Craft & Yard Sale- March 19 from 9-3 & March 20 from 11-3 .$50 per table in gym  for both days. A silent auction will be in the gym foyer. Discussion on best way to conduct auction. Each class will have a table for auction items. No charge for these tables. Business cards will be handed out at holiday bazaars to advertise our sale to vendors. Info will direct them to website- ikeptsa.org .                                      

 

  Renaissance- Renaissance was started 20 years ago by Jostens in California to promote academic achievement. ACTIVITIES- A 5th period class doing school service,  Sponsored  “A Day on the Green” in Sept. with BBQ and games for students achieving a GPA of 3.or higher for spring 2010 trimester (562 students participated). Sponsored the College Fair during student- led conferences with 26 colleges participating. Currently planning early dismissal for students achieving a GPA  of 3.or higher during fall trimester on the last day of classes before the winter break with a movie shown in the Little Theater. FUNDRAISING- Butter Braids earned $780, IKE sweatpants and hoodies will be on sale the end of November for $20 each, Scrapbooking and T-shirt quilt making will be held this Sat (Nov. 13) and again the Saturday of the Craft & Yard Sale( 3-19-2011 ) in the cafeteria.
